Week 8 - 01.03.21
So, this is our last newsletter and hopefully our last ever week of home learning. A huge well done to everybody, children at home, your parents and the children who have been in school - you have made it work, you have made it!
This week is special, not just because it is the last week of home learning, but because it is World Book Day 2021, on Thursday. It’s a little bit like the Covid birthdays that most of us have had, it will be different to usual, but it still gives us a chance to celebrate and to enjoy a happy day of reading activities.
The first thing to tell you about the day is that you have permission (if mum and dad agree) to wear your pyjamas all day long if you like! I think that will make a few children in Ash Class very happy! Then, have a look at the English activities for Thursday, where you will see that we have chosen ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ for you. Also, have a look at the school website for a link to a film that Mrs Sanders has prepared. The day is called ‘World Book Day’, so you could spend all day doing these activities. The plan is for you to create a new character instead of a tiger to visit Sophie, then to write your own version of events. As well as this I have seen some of the lovely models and pictures you have been making, so you could make a model or painting of your new character. I also know that some of you have been cooking and baking so you could write a shopping list, follow a recipe to make something for tea and then welcome your visitor. Have lots of fun and we would love to see what you have done on Monday 8th March.
