Gretton Primary School

Week 1 - 4.01.21

I hope that you have all had a wonderful Christmas break and had a well-earned rest! I would like to say a massive thank you for all of the lovely gifts I received, you are very thoughtful- it made Mr Knibbs very jealous to see all my pressies under the tree!

Unfortunately, the schools have had to be closed to the majority of pupils and I have to say I am greatly disappointed. I was so looking forward to welcoming you all back to school and getting stuck in to some jolly good learning. However, we need to do what is necessary to keep each other safe and we shall pull together again, just as we did in March. I detect a little Déjà vu but am happy to repeat that we are in this together. This may be a worrying time for many of us as we fear that the gaps in our children’s learning will only get bigger, but please rest assured that we are not alone. Children up and down the country are going to be experiencing the same thing and, as teachers, we are planning to be as prepared as possible to close that gap when the children return. Your role as ‘teacher’ is going to be so important over the next few weeks and I can’t thank you enough for stepping up and supporting us during this lockdown period.
