The Academy welcomes new arrivals

We have recently welcomed the arrival of some chickens to the Academy. They are adapting to their new home which is on the old pond area and have a coop with a large enclosure they can explore.

We have recently welcomed the arrival of some chickens to the Academy. They are adapting to their new home which is on the old pond area and have a coop with a large enclosure they can explore.

The chickens have currently produced 6 eggs which will be avalible to purchase. The money made will then cover the cost of the food for the animals.

Each week classes will take it in turns to be in charge of looking after the chickens and and feeding them.

Mrs Hill said ‘ We are really excited to have the chickens. The pupils will learn to be responsible for them and we can use them to tie in with the curriculum for subjects such as science.

‘We have also recently held a competition to choose the names of the chicken and these will be announced shortly.’
