Christingle

Pupils, family and friends recently gathered at the church to celebrate Christingle.

Pupils, family and friends recently gathered at the church to celebrate Christingle.

During the service pupils and staff sang a variety of songs such as Silent Night and told us the story of the birth of baby Jesus.

Reverend Sian then informed us of the meaning of Christingle ‘Christ Light’ and explained the different elements of the Christingle. The orange representing the world, the ribbon representing the love and blood of Christ, the sticks and sweets representing all of God’s creation such as the seasons and harvest and the candle representing Jesus’ light in the world.

The Christingles were then lit whilst we turned the lights down and remembered everything that Jesus sacrificed for us with a pray.

Principal Ms Jane MacDonald said: ‘The service was really nice and the children sang their songs and read their reading beautifully. It was lovely to see so many parents and families attend and we thank Reverend Sian for reminding us why we celebrate Christmas.’
