Use of the MUGA (£155) 

Children have become more active at lunchtimes due to the organised games. This has also improved behaviour and social skills e.g. turn taking, team work etc.

More children are able to attend sports clubs and taking part in physical exercise.

Children are encouraged to take part in activities they might otherwise be unable to experience. Children are encouraged to take part in these clubs outside of school too.

By using the MUGA, it allows the children extra space to take part in physical activities and the daily exercise in a space and enclosed environment. 

Profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement

Encouraging pupils to take on leadership or volunteer roles that support sport and physical activity within the school.

Embedding physical activity into the school day through active travel to and from school, active break times and active lessons and teaching.

Sports Crew training for Year 6 to enable them to run activities for younger children during break times and lunch times.

Primary HUB training for all lunchtime supervisors. (£1234.32)  

Children in Year 6 were able to lead games and activities for the children in KS1. This meant children were more engaged with physical activity during break and lunch times. 

Our Year 1 children gained more confidence with riding a bike, learning the basic skill of balance. Out of 20 children that took part in the training, 15 were able to pass their level 2.

Children shown how to use skipping ropes in new ways to encourage them to be more active during break times. Children also provided the opportunity to buy a skipping rope and continue being more active from home.

All the children in the school had the opportunity to be more active. They also took up the opportunity for a coaching session afterschool to pursue the interest and continue being active outside of school.

The Primary HUB training helped look at the strengths of how lunchtime runs and areas that we could improve on. As a result of this, lunchtime has a much better and smoother running where all the adults are utilised to support both the children and each other. All areas of the school grounds are being used effectively to manage lunchtimes. 

Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport 

Providing staff with professional development, mentoring, training and resources to help them teach PE and sport more effectively to all pupils and embed physical activity across your school.  

Hiring qualified sports coaches to work alongside teachers to enhance or extend current opportunities. 

All teaching staff to have 1:1 training sessions with local School Sports Officer who will model teaching of a particular area of weakness e.g. gymnastics. (£2345)

New P.E. resources ordered to ensure all teachers have the resources needed to teach effective lessons. (£371.87)  

Cover for P.E. coordinator to research, observe/teach lessons, organise competitions and clubs etc. £1800  

Our ECT teachers benefited from receiving training within areas that they felt less confident in. This meant that the children gained excellent PE sessions and this will have a positive impact on future lessons too.

Positive behaviour at lunchtime has improved.

PE equipment has been restocked to ensure that effective lessons are being taught and PE outcomes are met with the children.

A wide range of clubs and competitions have been organised during this time, providing extra-curricular activities to those that may not usually be active. 

Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils 

Introducing new sports and physical activities to encourage more pupils to take up sport and physical activities.

      Partnering with other schools to run sport activities and clubs.  

Providing more (or broadening the variety of) extra-curricular activities after school in the 3 to 6pm window, delivered by the school or other local sport organisations.

Children have been able to take part in more adventurous activities which have pushed them out of their comfort zone. It has allowed the children to work as a team and improve listening skills. Some children shown an interest about pursuing this activities further.
