Forest School
Learning through nature—building confidence, curiosity, and creativity in the great outdoors!
At Gretton Primary Academy, we believe some of the best classrooms have no walls! Our Forest School sessions take learning outdoors, where children can explore, play, and discover the wonders of nature. Whether they’re building dens, spotting wildlife, or solving real-world problems with sticks and stones, every child gets the chance to grow in confidence, creativity, and curiosity.
Forest School is all about hands-on, child-led learning in the great outdoors. It’s where muddy boots, big smiles, and brilliant ideas come together! By encouraging children to take risks, work together, and connect with the natural world, we help them develop skills that last a lifetime—all while having loads of fun.
Meet the Forest School Team
| Miss Parkin is our Level 3 qualified forest school leader. She loves being outside, exploring our local countryside and being surrounded by laughter and wonder from all the children. Her favourite quote is "There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing." |
| Mrs Buffham has been coming to Forest School for over 6 years. She loves being outdoors with the children, exploring our surrounding countryside whatever the weather. However, show her a spider and she'll soon be off! |
| Miss Wade loves being part of Forest School because it's amazing to see the children exploring and understanding the world around them. Give Miss Wade a muddy puddle and she will be there, jumping in them all day long! |
| Mrs Yarnold is the newest member of the Forest School team but her love of the great outdoors makes her a fantastic addition. She is a great lover of animals - from huge horses to tiny insects, no creature will put her off! |
