Pastoral support

Supporting emotional well-being so every child feels safe, understood, and ready to learn and grow each day.

At Gretton Primary Academy, we care deeply about the emotional well-being of our children, families, and staff. We understand that life can bring challenges, and sometimes we all need a little extra support. That’s why we’re committed to helping our pupils grow not just academically, but socially and emotionally too.

Tier 1 All of our staff are trained in relational practice and focus on delivering universal, school-wide strategies aimed at promoting mental health, wellbeing, and safety for all students. This proactive approach includes in-class support, regular staff check-ins, monitoring of attendance/behaviour, and building positive relationships with families. It aims to prevent issues before they require intensive intervention
Tier 2 Dedicated members of staff are trained to deliver targeted intervention for children requiring a more personalised approach.  These interventions may be delivered in small groups or individually and focus on social and emotional learning.
Tier 3 We are lucky enough to be partnered with our local Mental Health Support Team who provide intensive support from mental health experts.  Find out more information here.  We also work with a wide variety of services such as Service 6, Happy Heads and the Never Alone Project when a child needs specialist support.
