Teaching & Learning

Inclusive, research-led teaching tailored to how every child learns—ensuring all thrive at Gretton Primary Academy

At Gretton Primary Academy, we believe that understanding how children learn is at the heart of effective teaching. Every child is unique, and so are the ways they absorb, process, and apply new knowledge. By recognising the different learning styles, needs, and strengths of our pupils, we can create inclusive and engaging learning experiences that help every child thrive. Our approach ensures that no child is left behind, and that learning is accessible, meaningful, and enjoyable for all.

To support this, our Primary Pedagogical Toolkit is grounded in evidence-based research, including Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction and Tom Sherrington’s insightful interpretation of these ideas. This toolkit guides our teaching strategies, helping us to deliver clear, structured, and responsive lessons that build knowledge over time. At Gretton, we are committed to nurturing curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning in every child, reflecting our core values of respect, responsibility, and excellence in all we do.
