Growing Together at Gretton

At Gretton Primary Academy, our motto, “Striving to be Better Every Day” and our values shape everything we do. They guide how we support each child’s personal development and help them grow into kind, confident, and responsible members of their school and wider community.

Our values are part of everyday life at Gretton:

  • We are kind – We teach children to care for others, show respect, and understand the importance of helping and supporting those around them—both in school and in the wider world.
  • We try our best – We encourage children to be resilient, to keep going even when things are tricky, and to take pride in their efforts and achievements.
  • We make good choices – We help children understand their feelings, think about how their actions affect others, and learn how to make thoughtful, positive decisions.
  • We dream big – We inspire children to believe in themselves, set goals for the future, and understand that hard work and determination can help them achieve great things.

We want every child to succeed not just academically, but as a well-rounded individual. That’s why we offer a wide range of experiences that help children grow in confidence, take on responsibility, and make a difference.

Our children take part in meaningful activities such as:

  • Visiting the local Baptist Chapel to spend time with elderly members of the village.
  • Working with Gretton Parish Council to raise awareness about local issues like speeding and litter.
  • Helping to care for our Forest School site in the local playing field.
  • Delivering harvest boxes to elderly and vulnerable residents.
  • Organising and running our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning—raising over £600 last year!
  • Hosting a Christmas lunch for older members of the community.

These experiences help our children understand the value of kindness, leadership, and community spirit. At Gretton, we’re proud to help every child become the very best version of themselves—ready for the future, and ready to make a difference.
